ASBESTOS CERTIFICATIONS


Asbestos Awareness

"Fulfill requirements for OSHA or your apprentice program with this presentation including the definition of asbestos, its characteristics, uses and health effects. Employer specific procedures developed and disseminated as requested."
Initial training is 2 to 4 hours


Asbestos Contractor/ Supervisor

"This certification is for any person who performs supervision of persons permitted to enter the restricted area and regulated abatement work area."
Initial training is 40 hours
Refresher training in 8 hours


Handler

"This certification is for any person who removes, encapsulates, encloses, repairs or disturbs friable of non-friable asbestos, or who handles asbestos material in any manner which may result in the release of asbestos fiber."
Initial training is 32 hours
Refresher training is 8 hours


Project Monitor

"This certification if for any person other than the asbestos abatement contractor's supervisor, who oversees the scope, timing, phasing and /or remediation methods to be utilized on and the completeness of any asbestos project."
Initial training is 40 hours
Refresher training is 8 hours


Inspector

"Any person who performs the limited tasks involved in the asbestos survey, identification and assessment of the condition of asbestos and asbestos material and the recording and reporting thereof, or who is involved in the collection of bulk samples of asbestos material or suspect asbestos material for laboratory analysis."
Initial training is 24 hours
Refresher training is 4 hours


Management Planner

"Any person other than the asbestos abatement contractor's supervisor, who oversees the scope, timing, phasing and/or remediation methods to be utilized on and the completeness of any asbestos project."
Initial training is 16 hours with a prerequisite of the Inspector certification
Refresher training is 4 hours


Operation and Maintenance

"Any person who performs operations, maintenance and repair activities which may disturb Minor quantities of ACM, PACM or asbestos material. Operations and Maintenance certification permits the holder to perform OSHA Class III asbestos work only on Minor asbestos projects. These minor asbestos projects must be associated with repairs required in the performance of emergency or routine maintenance activity, and is not intended solely as asbestos abatement. Such work may not exceed minor quantities of ACM to be disturbed within a single glovebag or single negative pressure tent enclosure."
Initial Training is 16 hours
Refresher is 4 hours

OSHA TRAINING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY

We provide OSHA 10 hour and 30 hour construction industry outreach training with wallet cards provided from OSHA that are accepted in all 50 states and US territories. Proof of training is available directly after class for those headed off to work. Over the past three years, over 1.3 million students have received training through this program.


OSHA 10 Hour Construction Safety and Health

The OSHA Outreach Training Program is OSHA’s way to train workers in the basics of occupational safety and health. The 10-hour OSHA Outreach courses assist employers in training and introducing employees to the basic practices of identifying, reducing, eliminating and reporting hazards associated with their work. The course is presented to employees and places an emphasis on identifying common hazards in the construction industry as well as avoidance, control, and prevention - not simply OSHA standards. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will receive an OSHA Construction Safety and Health 10-hour card.

This course that satisfies the New York State Wicks Law requirement that all workers on prevailing rate jobs over $250,000 receive this training.

A minimum of two days is required, the class can be scheduled in various arrangements to meet an employers needs.


OSHA 30 Hour Construction Safety and Health

The 30-hour Construction Outreach Training Program is intended to provide a variety of training to workers with some safety responsibility. Training emphasizes hazard recognition, avoidance, control and prevention, not OSHA standards. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will receive an OSHA Construction Safety and Health 30-hour card.

A minimum of four days is required, the class can be scheduled in various arrangements to meet an employers needs.


Construction Industry Topics

Updated regulations regarding confined spaces and silica, standing regulations regarding fall protection, lead exposure and the like… we can provide training at the employers request to assist in meeting OSHA requirements and creating a safer work environment.

MOLD TRAINING

In New York State, Article 32, effective January 1, 2016, requires any person who performs work assessing or mitigating mold must have a valid mold license, issued by the Commissioner of Labor, for the type of work they will be performing. Individuals who do not possess a license may be subjected to a civil penalty.

For all classifications, one must be 18 years old or older, satisfactorily complete a mold training course from a Department of Labor approved training provider; and pay the state the required application fee.


Mold Abatement Worker

This is the minimum requirement for any individual engaged in mold abatement, “the act of removal, cleaning, sanitizing, or surface disinfection of mold, mold containment, and waste handling of mold and materials used to remove mold from surfaces”. This is a 16 hour class.


Mold Remediation Contractor

This training and licensing is required to work as a mold remediation contractor or to serve as the mold site or project supervisor. This is a 24 hour class.


Mold Assessor

Individuals or entities that perform evaluation or testing for the presence of mold are required to be training and licensed as a mold assessor. This is a 24 hour class.


Mold Refresher

All license holders are required to update their training every two years. This class meets the requirements for all categories.

FLAGGER TRAINING

We can provide flagger training certified by the American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA). Don’t put your personnel in harms way by serving as a flagger without the proper training!
This is a four hour course.
